A safe and reliable way of detecting and monitoring a pregnancy is by performing an abdominal ultrasound. By utilizing this method of imagining, we are able to confirm pregnancy, estimate the number of puppies the bitch is carrying and monitor the growth of the fetus. In order to confirm pregnancy, an ultrasound is performed by 28 to 32 days post-ovulation.

How does ultrasound work?

When the sound waves penetrate the body, they “bounce” back. The ultrasound machine measures the time it takes for a sound wave to bounce back and creates an image.
