Microchipping
AKC Reunite Microchips
Another form of permanent identification that we offer is the AKC Reunite microchips.
A microchip is a radio transponder the size of a grain of rice that contains a unique series of numbers. Under the supervision of one of our veterinarians, this tiny device is easily and relatively painlessly inserted under your pet’s skin. This ID is then linked to your name, phone numbers, emergency contacts, and other vital information. Should your pet ever be lost, the microchip can be scanned at any veterinary hospital or shelter. By obtaining the ID number, the facility is able to contact AKC Reunite who immediately sends you text messages, emails and begins contacting all the phone numbers on your pet’s record to reunite you as quickly as possible.
